Website Information
The Bell's Palsy Information Site is a comprehensive, up-to-date source of facial paralysis information. While Bell's palsy is the primary focus, it includes information that applies to facial palsy regardless of what precipitated the condition.
The newest addition to the site is our Discussion Center, a group of interactive forums. Our forums are divided into several areas of focus, and are linked directly from the website. In combining a fact-based website with forums for discussion and support, the Bell's Palsy Information Site becomes a powerful on-line resource in all phases of facial palsy.
The author of the Bell's Palsy Information Site is Jan Opoliner. H. Jacqueline Diels is contributing author of articles on residuals and facial retraining. Information published at the site is reviewed by our Advisory Board, and updates are incorporated as new information becomes available.
Among our Moderators at the forums is Todd Henkelmann MS, PT, Clinical Instructor, of the UPMC Facial Nerve Center in Pittsburgh, PA.
Our team includes an Advisory Board, whose primary purpose is to ensure accuracy of information.
Advisory Board members
Barry M Schaitkin, MD, FACS, Associate Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Schaitkin is co-author of "The Facial Nerve, 2nd Ed.", and maintains an active involvement in published research in this area.
